A More Seamless Experience for You
Learn more about how Daily Drafts & Dialogues is improving to accommodate its growth, so you have a more seamless and enjoyable reading and writing experience moving forward.
Dear readers and subscribers, in an effort to make your experience more seamless, consistent, and cohesive, I’ve made some adjustments that I know you’ll love.
The Highlights:
Better organized Daily Drafts & Dialogues sections
Some sections will be renamed and others will be merged. Why? The updated section names are shorter and easier to follow and understand. You will still be able to receive notifications for only the sections you want—that doesn’t change. And you will still see the same type of posts, though now they will include a few improvements I know you’ll appreciate.
New post schedule
Before, you would never know when certain posts would be published each week. Now you will.
NOTE: There will be a brief pause in posts to get on this new schedule. Posts will resume this Saturday, July 11th.
Dedicated Drafters Workshop and Dialoguers chat threads each week
Now you will see one chat thread dedicated to drafts each week, and another dedicated to dialogues. A new Drafters Workshop chat will go live every Saturday and remain dedicated to workshopping what you’re writing that weekend and week ahead. A new Dialoguers chat will go live every Monday and be dedicated to discussing topics related to the writer’s lifestyle and interests.
Updated Sections
Drafts
The Drafts section will include what was formerly published under the Creative Writing and Writing Prompts sections. You will now see drafts inspired by Daily Drafts & Dialogues writing prompts shared every Saturday.
Dialogues
The Dialogues section will include what was formerly published under the Essays & Reflections and Monthly sections. So, you will now see Drafting Diaries series posts and Drafting & Dialoguing Digest posts published under this section at the end of each month, as well.
Books
The Books section will include what was formerly published under the Book Reviews section, but will now also include notes on books, publishing, book genres, and book recommendations in addition to book reviews.
Daily Drafters Exclusives
The Daily Drafters Exclusives section will still include all exclusive posts for Paid subscribers. However, now all writing prompts for the month (30 BONUS prompts) will be included in one post at the beginning of each month instead of at the bottom of daily posts.
Please verify your Daily Drafts & Dialogues subscription notifications in Substack to make sure you continue to receive the emails and notifications for the posts you want. And remember that all daily posts are available for free until they are auto-archived to paid seven days after they’re published.
Post Schedule (New!)
Posts will now follow a weekly schedule, so you’ll know when to expect them in your inbox each week. Barring interruptions due to major holidays or unforeseen circumstances, you can expect the following cadence of posts each week moving forward.
NOTE: There will be a brief pause in posts to get on this new schedule. Posts will resume this Saturday, July 11th.

Sunday
A post published under the Drafts section based on one of the prompts in Saturday’s post.
In this post, I will share my completed version of one of the prompts shared in Saturday’s post. In the future, however, I hope to have more writing shared in the Drafters Workshop chat thread highlighted in these posts as well. So don’t be shy about workshopping your writing in the chat. Your workshopped writing, along with your Substack links and byline, could be featured in a future Daily Drafts & Dialogues post!
Monday
A reflective post that spurs dialogue for the week published under the Dialogues section.
In this post, I will present a question or topic worth discussing throughout the week that is related to reading, writing, and or the creative experience or lifestyle. You’ll see polls and other ways to engage with these topics in the post, as well as a dedicated Dialoguers chat thread to discuss the topic. I hope this prompts further reflection and community dialogue around what it means to be a writer and reader today, as well as any of our related work.
On the last Monday of each month, you will see the Drafting Dialogues series post published under the Dialogues section instead. This post will still prompt dialogues, but those dialogues will be centered more around current WIPs, larger writing projects, and writing done over the course of the whole month.
Tuesday
A post published under the Books section that will include book reviews, notes on books, publishing, book genres, and or book recommendations. These posts will also include links to join Egalitarian Book Club discussions.
Wednesday
Another post published under the Drafts section based on one of the prompts in Saturday’s post.
In this post, I will share another completed version of one of the prompts shared in Saturday’s post. Again, I hope to have more writing shared in the Drafters Workshop chat thread highlighted in these posts as well. So don’t be shy about workshopping your writing in the chat. Your workshopped writing, along with your Substack links and byline, could be featured in a future Daily Drafts & Dialogues post!
Thursday
A reflective post that expands on the dialogue topic introduced in Monday’s post, published under the Dialogues section.
This post will offer a more in-depth and or nuanced look at the topic introduced in Monday’s post and will include any community engagement from the week that expands on the week’s dialogue topic, like poll results and things discussed in the Dialoguers chat thread shared in Monday’s post.
On the Thursday following the last Monday of each month, you will see the Drafting & Dialoguing Digest post published under the Dialogues section instead. This post will include a roundup and recap of the previous month’s posts and community engagement, and any other information you’ll want to know about as a Daily Drafts & Dialogues subscriber for the upcoming month.
Friday
A post published under the Books section that will include book reviews, notes on books, publishing, book genres, and or book recommendations. These posts will also include links to join Egalitarian Book Club discussions.
Notifications and Notes
Paid subscribers:
You will still have full access to the Community Chat, which means you can share any of your writing for feedback and recognition any time you want, and that you will also have full access to the dedicated chat threads shared in posts once they move to paid. Which also means that you can share writing based on Daily Drafts & Dialogues prompts, as well as any other writing you’re working on (posts, articles, flash fiction, excerpts from your current WIP, etc.), in accordance with the Community Chat Guidelines at your leisure. Please note that while I can’t guarantee engagement from other community members because they will always participate at their own leisure too, I can guarantee that I will personally reply to everything submitted to the chat within 24-48 hours to ensure you always get some kind of engagement with what you share as this community continues to grow.
Moving forward, you will no longer see writing prompts at the bottom of every post. Instead, you will now see them in a monthly Daily Drafters Exclusives post, which will go out on the first day of every month. You will still be receiving the same amount of writing prompts every month— 30 BONUS writing prompts every month. You will also see exclusive monthly writing challenges in this monthly post, as well as future Daily Drafters Spotlights. You will receive July’s writing prompts and writing challenge within the next couple of days in your inbox!
All Daily Drafters and Dialoguers:
Thank you so much for being here!
Your continued interest and support mean the world to me. Please know that I am invested in making sure Daily Drafts & Dialogues becomes not just another routine Substack for writers, but a relevant daily literary companion that is geared toward open-minded and curious writers and readers like you, who are interested in consistent opportunities to improve and practice their craft via drafts and dialogues.
The aim of Daily Drafts & Dialogues remains the same: To help facilitate deeper connections with fellow indie authors, creative writers, critical thinkers, and prolific readers who are interested in building an engaged and supportive network of people who believe in the power of language, writing, and storytelling. One draft. One dialogue. One day at a time.
Thank you again for being here.
Until we meet in the comments again, happy writing and reading!
