An Ode to the Sun Gods
Today’s post is based on a writing prompt I shared in a previous Daily Drafts & Dialogues post: Daylight Saving Time. Keep reading to see what I wrote, and to access more writing prompts.
The poem I wrote below is based on the following writing prompt: Write a creative piece about how Daylight Saving Time makes you feel, or write a journal entry about what you think about it.
An Ode to the Sun Gods
Delaying daylight to disturb circadian rhythms and organic rhythms of life and living dreams of natural sustenance to save … to save … to save … time? For whom? Not I or they or he or she or you. But for the false gods of prosperity of energy of health of war delaying daylight to resuscitate dead markets and dying revenue streams and streaming schemes of manmade greed to save… to save… to save… to take… the light of living from you and me.
I will likely revise, edit, or add to this draft in the future. Stay tuned.
Leave a comment or chat thread to start a dialogue or share what you wrote for this writing prompt. And be sure to see today’s writing prompt below if you’re interested in completing another creative writing exercise like this one.

Today’s Writing Prompt
Writing Prompt: Ballet Dancer
Write a piece of flash fiction, or a poem, about a ballet dancer. Or write about the last time you either attended a ballet or performed in one.
Writing Tip:
Consider the music the ballet dancer is dancing to, or what they are doing and how they feel when they are not dancing, or while they’re rehearsing.
