WRITING PROMPTS to help you explore today’s topic:

  1. Write about your procrastination habits—when, where, how, and why you tend to procrastinate. Then write about what you learned from what you wrote down.

  2. Write about both the pros and cons of procrastination. Try to be as objective as possible.

  3. Write a short fictional scene in which someone is procrastinating, but it turns out to be a good thing for them.

  4. Write a dialogue between two people in which they're procrastinating doing something important.

My response to today’s question:

Personally, I don’t think procrastinating is fundamentally a bad thing because we tend to procrastinate when we're not yet ready to do something. The real trick isn't to try and avoid procrastination no matter what, but to determine why exactly we're not ready to do that something we're delaying doing when we are procrastinating so we can address that issue first, as soon as possible. I believe this is the first step to ensuring whatever procrastination we're experiencing doesn't go on indefinitely. Keep reading to see more of my thoughts on this...
