Q & A Update: Incognito
Read the latest updates about Incognito, a modern-day serial publication that’s coming to Substack soon! Then be sure to check out today’s writing prompt at the bottom of this post.
What is Incognito?
Incognito will be a serial publication, which means that it is a publication that will be released in installments (chapters) indefinitely (as of right now). It will read like a novel with main characters you will want to follow. You can also think of it as being like a need-to-see television show, where you will get to know main characters as they evolve and experience new and different things related to Incognito (an underground Robin-Hood-esque cybercriminal network with dubious motives) in every chapter.
Who are the characters in Incognito?
Incognito will be told from the perspective of Tori Daniels, a fictional character who works for a media company owned by Lynch Global, a fictional multi-billion-dollar conglomerate owned and operated by the Lynch family. After a sudden death in the Lynch family makes headlines and spurs wild and scandalous speculations, Tori finds herself caught up in all sorts of plots and intrigue connected to Incognito and the Lynch family. I hope to have a more detailed synopsis and character sketches available before the first chapter goes live, so stay tuned!
Where will you be able to read Incognito?
Incognito will be published on Substack. I will share a link to the new Incognito Substack publication in Substack Notes and in a Daily Drafts & Dialogues post as soon as it is available. I will also share it on social media and in my Linktree: linktr.ee/K_E_Creighton
When will you be able to read Incognito?
The first chapter of Incognito will be published on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The current plan is to have one new chapter published every ten days after that. So, the second chapter will be published on October 10, and so on. Readers will be notified when and if there is ever a deviation from this publishing schedule due to holidays or unforeseeable situations that might arise in the future.
How will accessing Incognito work?
Like all other publications on Substack, you will be able to subscribe to Incognito to receive new chapters in your inbox as soon as they’re published. I am planning to have the first couple of chapters (posts) available for free, so newer readers can start enjoying Incognito right away. Following posts will be available to paid subscribers for $7.50 per month, which is roughly $2.50 per chapter. Daily Drafts & Dialogues free and paid subscribers will receive a discount, so stay tuned for those details.
Why share Incognito as a serial publication on Substack?
Most Incognito chapters will contain or be centered around current affairs and concerns, so it makes sense to publish them as a digital serial publication where readers will have immediate access and be able to engage in chat threads about them. While a novel can take several years to write and publish, a digital serial publication will allow Incognito to explore current and timely topics that are of interest to most readers right now. And Substack is one of the best platforms for such a publication. Don’t you think?
