WRITING PROMPTS to help you explore today’s topic:

  1. Write about your last vacation. What did you like about it? What would you do differently if you could do it all over again?

  2. Write about three to five things you must have while you are on vacation in order to think of it as a vacation (i.e., silence, a body of water, tourist attractions, travel plans, ...).

  3. Imagine you can go anywhere you want to go at this very moment. Now close your eyes and envision it. When you open your eyes, write about what you saw, even if it seemed jumbled.

  4. Write a fictional scene of a character who is on vacation. Before you start writing, consider: Where are they? Are they alone? What are they hearing, feeling, touching, seeing, and tasting?
